Adoptions
From time to time, McDonough Animal Hospital may have pets available for adoption. While we try to make every effort to direct clients to rescue organizations, we are sometimes faced with keeping a pet with us in order to shelter and protect it while we seek a forever home.
In these events, we will vaccinate and provide medical care for the pet that is appropriate or necessary. Adoption fees are determined by the Practice Manager and can vary depending on the services rendered to the pet.
Interested adopters should fill out an adoption form for review by the Practice Manager. They should be offered time to come in and interact with the pet in a controlled environment - typically this is during a quiet time of day in an exam room so they are able to see some personality.
If approved, they are to pay the fee associated with the pet and fill out the adoption agreement, linked below. If the pet has not been sterilized prior to being adopted, they may come back to do so - MAH will cover the cost of the surgery but the adopter will be responsible for ancillary charges such as bloodwork, microchip, pain medications and elizabethan collars.
