Filling Prescriptions

Medications should be filled as labels expel from the printer

Check the label to verify medication, strength, and quantity needed - also check instructions to verify how medications are to be sent (whole vs half tablets)

Pull the appropriate medication down, get an appropriate pill vial, and place a label on the vial

Begin filling medications as the label instructs - if the client is here for the medication you may alter the tablet (half or quarter). If the client is coming later to pick it up, please do not alter the medication in case they decline later. 

After the fill is completed, take the original bottle of medication and the filled prescription to a doctor or the Practice Manager for verification - they must initial the label to signify the medication is approved for sale.
