Releasing Pets at Check out

If a pet is not checked out, the doctor is likely still making notes in the chart

The only person authorized to make a patient available for check out by releasing them is a DVM

Allow time for the doctor to finish up and make sure all charges have been put in and medications have been dispensed prior to calling back for release

Consider telling the client in an exam room to hold on a moment so you can check with the doctor and make sure their exam is complete before dismissing them to the lobby
