Medication Refills - Online/Fax
Chewy:
We use Chewy’s online portal - Petscriptions. When these requests come in, find the account on Avimark.
Place a client communication to appropriate doctor using CC code. Change COMMUNICATION to CHEWY.
Timestamp using CTRL+D. Put the information in the communication box, and ask how many refills.
For example:
AMM: 09-17-21 at 12:29p: chewy request for Reconcile for Dogs (32mg, 30ct). can this be approved? refills?
Vet’s First Choice:
We use the online portal for our online pharmacy, Vet’s First Choice. When these requests come in, find the account on Avimark.
Place a client communication to appropriate doctor using CC code. Change COMMUNICATION to VFC.
Timestamp using CTRL+D. Put the information in the communication box, and ask how many refills.

1800PetMeds:
We use the online portal for PetMeds. We will receive an email with a link to show us the requests. When these requests come in, find the account on Avimark.
Place a client communication to appropriate doctor using CC code. Change COMMUNICATION to PETMEDS.
Timestamp using CTRL+D. Put the information in the communication box, and ask how many refills.

If they remove it from the portal before we hear back from the doctor, please call the online pharmacy and do a verbal approval over the phone
PetMart Pharmacy, Allivet, Etc:
Once you receive the Weave notification, print the request off. Locate the client and patient within Avimark.
On a sticky note, write the client number, when their rabies is due, and if they have an up-to-date exam.
In the medical history box, add a new item. Use the code RXONLY, or type in Written Rx to find the correct item.
After hitting approve, add a note to that item. You’ll put the prescription information, and a note saying “ in back “ so we’ll know where it’s at in the clinic. For example:

When it comes back, you’ll timestamp that it’s been approved or denied and that you have faxed it back. For example:

Fax back to the appropriate number using Weave.
If they remove it from the portal before we hear back from the doctor please call the online pharmacy and do a verbal approval over the phone
If C is unresponsive when the doctor needs additional information, we call to schedule appointment to refill, or they're overdue; after the 3rd attempt to contact them we should post out the communication and decline the RX. We should attempt on the 3rd try to call, text, and email to make sure we have tried all modes of communication. Leave CC up for another 1 business day after the final attempt and then post.
If client is attempting to get medication refilled and you notice that the pet is out of date, make the CC and keep it to reception. Call the client and see about getting the pet scheduled, so they don't have to send in another request. After appointment, then the RX can be sent to the doctor for approval.
