Scavenger Canister Logs

The scavenger unit evacuates the anesthetic from the machine and pet directly to a disposal source so we are not expelling the excess into the air around us. 

These are the clean air canisters located at the bottom of both anesthesia machines attached to the blue tubes. 

• The canisters must be weighed using GRAMS prior to being placed on the machine and hooked up. Log this in Avimark under Equipment with the weight of the canister and which machine you're changing.

• The canisters should be weighed again every 30 days until the canister has gained 50 GRAMS from the starting weight - it should be thrown in the trash when this happens and the canister for that machine should be replaced.
