Technician Visits
*UPDATED 10-21-2024*
Tech appointments are available to clients who have had a routine exam within the past 12 months, and/or as directed by a doctor
These visits should be scheduled on the V Technician slot in the appointment book
Listed below are things that an assistant or technician can complete without a doctor's exam
Heartworm tests
Blood draws for sending out bloodwork
ProHeart injections (heartworm test must be current or that will be needed as well)
Bordetella/Flu vaccines - initial or boosters
2nd and 3rd puppy distemper (as long as client has no concerns)
Fecal exams
Adult distemper boosters (post initial vaccine - 3-week booster)
Adult FELV or FVRCP boosters (post initial vaccine - 3-week booster)
Repeat Cytopoint injection (ok within a year of first injection as long as an exam is current - and no new lesions or complaints of skin areas)
Repeat Solensia/Librela injection (ok within a year of first injection as long as an exam is current - and no new concerns)
Microchip insertion
Laser treatments - previously purchased packages or ongoing laser therapy prescribed by a DVM
Be mindful of the work schedule and the appointment book when you're putting tech appointments in. We should be adequately staffed for such a situation.
When adding a tech appointment, make sure to change the "appointment type" in Avimark to "Tech Appt" so it highlights teal. This will change the verbiage on the PetDesk reminder to alert the client this is a technician visit and they will not be seeing a doctor for this appointment - if the pet's condition has changed please call.
These appointments are only available to clients who call us or text, we do not have this slot open on VetStoria.
