Scheduling Urine Appointments
If a client calls with a pet that is having trouble urinating, urinating frequently, or urinating blood, assume we will need a sample from the pet
We should ask the client to refrain from allowing the pet to urinate for 2 hours prior to their appointment, if possible.
Let the client know they can call us from their vehicle, if the pet is a dog, when they arrive and we will come out promptly to catch a sample
Try to schedule urine appointments in the morning or early afternoon
Change the appointment type to Urinalysis so PetDesk generates the correct reminder for this appointment
If the appointment is for a male cat and the cat is not urinating, urinating blood, or having trouble urinating - this is an emergency! They need to be seen right away.
