HM5 - Quality Control

Quality Control is run after changing the reagent pack on the unit.

Each lot of quality control is different and must be entered manually into the analyzer prior to running

From the home screen, select Maintenance > Quality Control

The QC level should be Normal - it will indicate on the package

Select References - compare the onscreen lot number, exp date, and target values with those shown on the package insert.

If the lot number and exp date of the current control vial in hand are the same as those displayed onscreen, verify that the onscreen target and range values match those on the control package insert, then select Accept and run the sample.  If they're different, select NEW, then NEW again to confirm the choice, and enter the new information onscreen. 

**Do not use a sample that has been open for more than 14 days - these should be discarded after each use and placed on the order list**

From the Home screen, select Maintenance > Quality Control, and select the level being tested (Normal is most common). 

Select Measure > Run QC to begin, and confirm to verify the lot number and values that match the QC vial.

Invert the vial 10-15 times, remove the cap, and place it on the sample rotor when prompted.
